Murdock Solon Architects is headquartered in the heart of New York City’s arts district in Chelsea. Our firm is composed of highly motivated professionals well-versed in the unique demands of home building in the city and surrounding areas. Founded by Shea Murdock and Kelly Solon Murdock in 2011, MSA is a combination of their international experience with a passion for their East Coast roots. We have since built a strong foundation within NYC and the surrounding area with a plethora of repeat clients, a portfolio of award-winning projects, and a core team of extraordinary architects and interior designers.

Today, our team approaches each project with a balance of thoughtful creativity, extensive research, and a keen understanding of our clients’ particular needs. In all phases, we work closely with our clients to ensure we design a home that works for every facet of life, from weekday living to weekend entertaining. We execute every project, whether it’s new construction architecture or a brownstone renovation, with a stepped design process and careful construction management. Murdock Solon Architects is a multidisciplinary firm and has developed a niche within the NYC architectural community, allowing it to be especially proficient at navigating the city’s unique building requirements. This includes legal needs and permits. Our knowledge and relationships ensure that we are continually up to date on the latest requirements, helping to stay on time and on budget.

This experience extends to working with historic Landmarked residential buildings across New York. Many Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island townhomes, brownstones, and houses may require special accommodations during the design process to meet Landmarked requirements. We specialize in preserving the home’s character and unifying original elements while finding a balance with today’s modern design.
